I presumed that selecting one as default within Account Settings was all that was needed. I do have two PST files showing, but I have not yet tried switching to the second one to see if that changes anything.
I'm not celebrating . . . Just tried to send my first email, and I got the following:
Task 'dp_1@xxxxxxxx - Sending' reported error (0x8004010F) : 'Outlook data file cannot be accessed.'
I'm getting too old for this!
Well . . . I was finally able to straighten out the create / reply issue in Outlook 2010. I just deleted the existing profile, created a new one (which appears to have created a new .pst file). That now allows Outlook to function correctly. I also deleted all the earlier .pst files, without...
The laptop came with 11 already installed.
Maybe I'm just dumber than I thought - I just checked my Main PC, which is Win 10, and it has the same three User folders. Considering that, it may be a non-issue, except for not understanding it. I recently did a fresh install of 10 on a new SSD in...
Over my many years as a PC user, I’ve slogged my way through the chronological progression of Window OS’s, from Win 3.1 all the way to Win 11 on my recently acquired Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 laptop. I’ve found it to be relatively easy to adapt to each one along the way, probably because the basic...
Yes, and therein may lie the problem. Between my current two systems, my previous HP laptop, and One Drive, there are links to Outlook pst files all over the place. As Outlook is currently setup on the problem child machine, the data file is an ost file. No pst files are shown. That's strange...
Correction . . . that partially worked. The last screen in that link shows "INBOX" as an entry in the "Root Folder." I have never had to use that in all the years I've used Outlook, but I tried it. That enabled me to create a new email and reply to a received email. However, it killed the link...
That worked!! The last settings screen image in that link showed a couple of settings that were different than the ones provided by my email host, Comcast. I tweaked them, and all is good again. I now owe you TWO milkshakes!
I have a new Lenovo laptop, with new (to me) Win11 OS. Currently using Office 2010, with MS Outlook as my default email clent. I cannot creat a new email on command, nor can I reply to a received email. Instead, I'm presented with a message telling me that there is no profile associated with the...
Right you are. I just corrected my earlier posts, to reflect that my upgrade to 10 was actually from WIN 7, not XP. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, but I won't let that fact stop me from doing it.
