Wow - great thread! I have many of the apps mentioned, but I was surprised to read that one I truly couldn't manage without hasn't been mentioned: Quicken. It's not free, but it's worth far more to me than the cost, and I've been using it on each computer I've had since 1986. It has left me with...
Thanks, Ghot! I appreciate the great information! I know MS is a little like a hungry octopus, and I guess we generally live with it or go to Linux. I do image my computer every week with Macrium, and I've used Revo, but didn't think of that utility for this. Bottom line is that what I reported...
Winver 22H2 22621.2428
Word appears in Start and I do not have this or any MS Office program that I'm aware of my actually installed. (I'm certainly not paying for any!) When I attempt to uninstall the entry in Start I'm redirected to Control Panel where I find three entries for Microsoft 365...
Thanks for the reply! I do not use the physical power button to shut down; rather, I use the Shutdown short cut on my desktop:
C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /s /t 0
My manual does reference a "Display Built-in Self Test button/Input-source selection button",
but it is recessed and has to be...
This isn't a problem, but I don't recall seeing these images until 2-3 weeks ago. I'm running the most recent update to my Windows 11 PC (at least per Windows Update), Win Home 22H2 Bld 621.2283. When I shut down my Dell AIO computer I see these two images, one after the other in the lower right...
Because my Windows 10 computer crashed, I had to reinstall Firefox on this new Window 11 computer, version 22H2 build 22621.2134. I learned because of a notice from a website that the Firefox identifies the computer as running the browser on Firefox Windows 10 NT 10.0. Is this a problem or can I...
Bought my new Win 11 computer less than a month ago and immediately updated via Windows update. No problems until I was notified several days later that 22H2 was available. I downloaded and then installed it, only to find the update had failed with the infamous 0x90888002 error. I have a disk...
Thanks again for your continued attention!
Did so: the above code produced "No instances available".
Should add that while waiting for your response I deleted the Windows Update cache. No success from that ; only one recent security update was then shown which I downloaded and installed.
Thank you for your reply! I'd read this suggestion from you in this thread, but I wasn't sure it would apply for me. However, I just tried it and got the attached. Not sure what to do now.
I realize this thread is marked closed, but my issue is very similar. When attempting the 22H2 upgrade after it was offered in Updates, the install failed with the error code 0x80888002. I used the update trouble shooter and it appeared detected problems had been corrected and I could try again...
