Follow-up:
If you want the folder to be even more identical (same order of the DACLs) to the one created by the update, you can:
1. Using Notepad, save the following as "ACLFile.txt" in a directory of your choice. Important: Encoding: UTF-16 LE

Apart from the fact that (at least that was the case for me, using Win10 22H2) one is also gifted with history and temp subfolders including their contents, this variant of the restoration process also sets the permissions differently compared to inetpub created by the update itself.
Does it...
I have two probably very stupid questions due to a knowledge gap:
How do the cache databases (IconCache.db and the multiple IconCache_*.db) actually differ?
And when are these recreated by Windows?
With every reboot? Or "only" with every automatic maintenance?
Many thanks and best regards,

Am I missing something, or shouldn't the CU have had a different KB than the corresponding preview?
And neither the preview nor the November CU can be found in the update history.

How does such a system behave if you deactivate it completely?
A little rant:
Even back then, I found it strange to...
Jep, it seems that this months CU has two KBs: KB5029921 and KB5031217.
In both cases the update catalog points to the same file (windows11.0-kb5029921....msu).
Just internal communication problems at Microsoft?
And the updates this month don't (yet?) appear in the Update History (W11...
Since the OEM tools often only work properly with their drivers, I was hoping you have found another way to determine that HMB was not active with StorNVMe.
Unfortunately, I don't have an appropriate SSD at hand at the moment, but I'll test it in the future.
It would have been interesting what...
Hello Buddywh,
may I ask how you determined that HMB was not working and it is now with the Crucial driver?
I'm kinda surprised, because the Microsoft driver should actually support HMB.
Thanks and greetings,
Martin
