Microsoft may want to add a dedicated Windows 11 button for ads and promos

Microsoft has been making lots of changes to the recommended section where it promotes apps and websites. The company may now be looking to add a dedicated button on Windows 11 just for that.

For the love of Bill. There are already like 30 settings to disable recommendations and it is not enough?

Just get over with it and enable them everywhere and every time the user blinks with eyes, let there be a bing sound, which will trigger a tiny transparent popup with Bing search and recommendations based on what is on the screen. That would be perfection. :smirk:

I would pay a (reasonable) monthly/yearly fee to not have advertising at all. Seems to be the way of all things now

No! The last thing I want is to see ads on Windows! Its bad enough Microsoft is taking away our ability to customise Windows, now they want to force ads on us. That's the final nail in the coffin.

That is called a customer feedback. MS failed to learn it's lesson in 8.
At first MS removed Start in 8 and then insulted people, who wanted it.
Then it promoted Vista 8.1 in ADs with a brand new feature, Start. :lmao:

To be honest, I don't use the start menu. very rarely but it is Ms's OS so its entirely up to them on what they wanna do with it, If i dont like it i wont use it. Pretty simple really.

2 very well known and established operating systems so yeah they are there as an option for sure!

For sure, but people are very unlikely going to use and or adapt to them. It would take a massive shift to draw them in.

I am starting to think Neowin writes articles like this for their add space sales. Articles catering for alarmists.
