  1. Solved VMware Workstation Pro Free for Personal Use

So after installing and using the new workstation pro, I quite like it. I like the snapshot feature a lot (which granted, I always had by just manually copying the virtual machine file somewhere, but it's nice) and the option to automatically install vmware tools on the latest version is super...
  2. Program disappeared from laptop

No an edge update would not do that. That is a long time frame unfortunately. Try right clicking on application and choose find and type in "idrive" or uninstall or even idrive uninstall and see what references you can find.

guess everything is fine now then. weird.
  4. A slew of Event ID: 7 within Event Viewer

ok if you used a locking sata cable then either ignore the error and wait for the possibility of the drive to die, or get a replacement through warranty. Or just get a better brand. I unfortunately am not sure whats going on with it. The smart data seems to be fine.
  5. A slew of Event ID: 7 within Event Viewer

Honestly with the brand being so unknown, its possible there is a bug in the firmware that is causing this. Or something is actually wrong with it. The fact that you haven't had it long I would just personally send it back and get something more name brand. Or even just a replacement and see if...
  6. A slew of Event ID: 7 within Event Viewer

I never heard of that brand.......Kingspec. The reviews mention it dying as well. Ironically the reviews are a bit more positive on amazon but there are complaints there as well. And when I go to their page they don't seem to offer their own utility for looking at the health of the drive or for...

What does the kingston health app report? https://www.kingston.com/en/support/technical/ssdmanager Also, what does crystal disk info report?
  9. Solved Desktop notifications.

Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen > Lock screen status. Then select Weather and more to show the detailed status on the lock screen. If you don’t want to see this experience, you can navigate to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen > Lock screen status and select None...
  10. Program disappeared from laptop

I thought about that as well, but it's extremely rare for that to have false positives, as it's usually focused on the really dangerous malware. But anything is possible.
  11. Program disappeared from laptop

You would need to look at the source for msi installer, not just the idrive. Looking through the logs there should report when it was uninstalled. But it may take some digging on your part. And without seeing the details text I wouldn't know. That would be a lot of screenshots. But look at the...

thanks @Bree, that was the link I meant to link to.
  13. VPN by Google One will be discontinued starting June 20, 2024

I used google vpn on my computer and liked it a lot for its simplicity. But I still have it on the pixel, so I can just use the vpn there and use hotspot on my phone to protect the laptop when im out, so not a huge deal. But I still dont see the reason for getting rid of it. Typical google...
  14. Supposedly brand new hard drive showing 10 power on count and 16k power on hours

More than likely it is accurate. I trust crystal disk info. Send it back. I have bought a 10TB drive from amazon and it verified correctly in crystal disk info that it was new. Showing only 1 power on count and 1 hour. You can also look up the drive serial number and see what the warranty...
  15. Device manager orange entries
