What "searches" are you talking about specifically? Are you using the built-in Windows Search capabilities? Or are you performing searches using some sort of third-party tool?

It appears that you are describing PowerToys functionality. If so, you can open PowerToys settings and disable these modules. ALT+SPACE is "PowerToys Run". Double click of CTRL key is "Find My Mouse". Alternatively, you can assign different keyboard shortcuts for these modules.

This means that your File Explorer icons are grouped in the taskbar. What if you [temporarily] disable grouping of taskbar icons? Does the problematic behavior still persist?

No, it isn't. It is simply different versions of the same icon for different sizes. They all are stored together. The smaller icon is just an arrow. The larger version is a folder with an arrow. The list in "Change Icon" dialog uses the smaller version, which is why you just see an arrow. But...

It appears that they've made some changes in one of the recent Edge updates. If the address bar contains an URL with an #id, simply hitting Enter for the same URL in the address bar now causes Edge to re-postion the page to that id.
