  1. Solved Newest photos not appearing when I browse my phone with Windows 11

Just to follow up... It looks like a caching issue. If I modify a file (rename, delete, etc.) then the missing photos will appear.
  2. Solved Newest photos not appearing when I browse my phone with Windows 11

That is where I am looking... The photos I took today are not there, but they do appear if I use the Phone Link app, or connect my phone to the PC with a cable. I'm just not sure if something changed in Windows or in Android. I didn't make any changes to my settings.
  3. Solved Newest photos not appearing when I browse my phone with Windows 11

I have a Google Pixel 7 phone that recently updated to Android 15. Windows 11 usually shows my phone in the sidebar of Windows Explorer. That is where I go to download photos from my phone, etc. Normally, the camera would show photos at "C:\Users\me\CrossDevice\Pixel 7\storage\DCIM\Camera"...
  4. Tick from my computer every three seconds

For those who are old timers... this tap is very similar to the floppy disk check an Amiga computer does every couple of seconds. ...no floppy in my PC though.
  5. Tick from my computer every three seconds

This is a micro ATX machine. Everything is blocked by something else... The optical drive and power supply are the only two parts I can get at without dismantling the whole machine. Also, the computer is in an awkward place to open up, so I don't want to do that until I've tried everything else.
  6. Tick from my computer every three seconds

No. It's a very regular tap. Definitely not something hitting the fan. It's not that much of a tap either. I definitely know what you mean though. I've been there. :) Unfortunately, the computer is in a location that is a real pain to work on. I don't want to pull it out if I don't have to.
  7. Tick from my computer every three seconds

I tried this... powering off/on and tapping the DEL key to go to the BIOS. Windows didn't load, so I assume it's at the BIOS settings screen and there is no "tapping" occurring. So it looks like Windows, or some other software that starts up automatically. Definitely gives me a direction to go...
  8. Tick from my computer every three seconds

I should also mention that I'm running this PC headless, using RDP to manage it, so I can't easily toss in a Linux or other utility disk and boot it for testing.
  9. Tick from my computer every three seconds

I recently built a small PC to use as a simple file server. It is running Windows 11 Pro. The machine is running well and doing what I want, but has a quirk. Every three seconds there is a "click" that comes from the computer. It's not really a click, but more of a tap. It doesn't sound...
  10. Solved Upgrade from Win 11 Home to Win 11 Pro with Win 7 or Win 10 Pro key?

That's how I tried to enter my Windows 10 Pro key. It's possible that I could have made a typing error, but then it should have complained that it was incorrect, not that the machine was already activated. It's possible that it won't accept the Windows 10 Pro key because it was used on a...
  11. Solved Upgrade from Win 11 Home to Win 11 Pro with Win 7 or Win 10 Pro key?

The Windows 10 Pro key was entered during the first installation. During the second installation I entered the Windows 10 Pro key in Settings->System->Activation->Change Product Key
  12. Solved Upgrade from Win 11 Home to Win 11 Pro with Win 7 or Win 10 Pro key?

I am retiring an old computer which is currently running an activated copy of Windows 11 Pro, non-OEM. I am replacing it with a newer machine that has already been activated with a Windows 11 Home digital license. I wiped the drive and did a fresh install of Windows 11 on the newer machine...
  13. Solved Worth adding AMD HD5830 to an AMD Ryzen 5 2400G system?

I have an older PC that is currently using the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G onboard graphics. It has 8 GB of memory and a 500GB SSD. It's used for basic games, surfing the web and watching YouTube videos mostly. I also have an AMD HD 5830 video card that's not in use. Is it worth installing this video...
  14. Solved Linux EFI partition shows in Windows as Z:

I was able to figure it out using Diskpart. Use "list disk" to find the disk number of the disk that has the partition. Select the disk. Use "list part" to find the partition that has the letter you want to remove. Select the partition. Enter "remove letter=z" to remove the Z: from the selected...
  15. Solved Linux EFI partition shows in Windows as Z:

I tried a trick to see the Z: drive under windows - Open Notepad as an administrator, then go to Open and select Z:. This is definitely an EFI partition but ONLY has an ubuntu directory in EFI. My actual boot EFI partition is on a different disk. This kind of makes sense, since my PC is dual...
