  1. Connected Thundertbolt drive causing very, very, very long boot times. Help!

Thanks for the suggestion. No change when booting into Safe Mode - tested this AM and it took 5 minutes to get to the login screen.
  2. Connected Thundertbolt drive causing very, very, very long boot times. Help!

Spoke to HP tech support and they are at a loss. They are sending a replacement flex port Thunderbolt card and I will see what happens after replacing. Any other thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really shouldn't take 5-10 minutes to get to the login screen with this...
  3. Connected Thundertbolt drive causing very, very, very long boot times. Help!

As a test, I connected one of the Glyph Tech RAIDs to my HP ZBook running Windows 10 and while there was a noticeable delay with boot times, it was only slight and no where near what I am seeing with the Z2 Mini G9 Workstation running Windows 11.
  4. Connected Thundertbolt drive causing very, very, very long boot times. Help!

I ran the system for a few days without the Thunderbolt 3 RAIDs connected and tested reboot times and they were as expected. Once the RAIDs were reconnected, ungodly reboot times returned. Next call will be to the Glymp Technologies tech support to see if they can be of any help as they were...
  5. Connected Thundertbolt drive causing very, very, very long boot times. Help!

Thanks for the suggestion. I first connected a 4TB OWC USB-C drive into the same port and successfully rebooted without delay. I next tried a 4TB Thunderbolt 3 OWC SSD and it too did not cause a delay when rebooting. Strange. The hardware RAIDs (two 32TB RAIDs daisy changed) are functioning just...
  6. Connected Thundertbolt drive causing very, very, very long boot times. Help!

Braintrust, I have been able to determine that my two Glyph Technologies Thunderbolt 32TB RAIDs are causing very, very, long reboot/boot up times...longest timed at 10 minutes. When disconnected (and with USB 3 drives connected), the G9 Workstation boots as quickly as expected. But, when...

I am glad this was of help and that you are back up and running!
  8. Thunderbolt 3 and Blue Screen of Death

Braintrust, I have a BTO Z2 Mini G9 with a Thunderbolt port (Flex I/O option). I can connect a 4TB Thunderbolt Envoy Pro drive without issue. However, I have a new OWC Thunderbolt 4M2 w/4 4TB HP M.2 SSDs that once I connect to the same Thunderbolt Flex I/O port, it causes an immediate Blue...
  9. Unable to open folders/files and launch programs from File Explorer

Quick update: GOOD NEWS! I successfully identified a process that was causing the problem with File Explorer: HP Sure Click (HP Security App). This also explains why I had the problems with Chrome as it installs an extension that is incredibly challenging to remove. By way of Windows Clean...
  10. Unable to open folders/files and launch programs from File Explorer

Thanks again @johnlgalt. Uninstalling Malwarebytes (via Revo Uninstaller) made no difference. I rebooted offline and no change. I disabled Windows Defender and no change. I can launch apps that are pinned to the task bar, but can't do so from shortcuts on the desktop (same with opening a text...
  11. Unable to open folders/files and launch programs from File Explorer

Apologies for the onslaught of posts...I was able to get the screen back after using the built in mini-display port. The box was in Safe Mode and the file explorer problem was not present in Safe Mode. EDIT: I was able to do a Repair Install of Windows 11 and the problem remains. I am at a...
  12. Unable to open folders/files and launch programs from File Explorer

Well, things went from bad to worse. I tried again to get into Safe Mode, this time by ticking "Safe boot" in System Configuration. Well, it reboots but now nothing comes up on my monitor (remains black, no signal). I forced rebooted with the same results. Previously, when trying to get into...
  13. Unable to open folders/files and launch programs from File Explorer

Thanks @johnlgalt for the reply and welcome, much appreciated. 1. Yes - when I first unboxed the OWC Express, I connected it to the HP's Thunderbolt 3 port (flex I/O). But nothing appeared to happen and the instructions call for installing the NVMe SSDs and then connecting (which led to...
