Be careful... that function is called "Rebuild MBR," not "Repair BOOT Sector." It only applies to older Legacy-MBR System configurations, not the more modern UEFI-GPT configurations.

Most likely due to other products, which offer PAID versions, having larger Development teams (to include both issue reporting, development and regression testing requirements). They can easily maintain multiple versions of their application. Hasleo is a very small group (maybe 4-5 members...

Turns out all of Hasleo's products have this TIME LIMITATION feature in them... both FREE and PAID. Their argument is that their Development team is very small and they don't have the resources to chase down issues with older versions of the software... they want you to upgrade to insure you...

I, as well as many users on the Hasleo Forum, have brought this up to the Devs when older versions we are using... stop working. When the Time Bomb is reached and you try and start the application... the message says you must update your version in order to continue, then the application EXITs...

All current versions have a time bomb in them. If you don't update your software in a timely manner, the current version will stop working. This is not a phone home thing, it is a real time bomb. When it goes PAID (not anticipated in the near future), I'm sure it will be removed.

The test builds mentioned above tend to be accumulative... as they fix issues, each additional test build needed for an issue includes all the fix issues from the previous test builds. They are all "use at your own risk" builds... kinda like the main software itself :rolleyes:

The only Betas I've ever seen are when a major new feature is being incorporated... last was when they were adding the Macrium X style data compression. It is now in the current release. They often issue "test" builds when chasing down obscure problems. The most recent of those builds may be...

I don't understand the "dependence" you refer to above. There are many, many both imaging and file backup options available. I've moved amongst them for years, finding better, faster, more reliable options. ..and in reference to a possible "subscription model" for their software, they've...

For those with interest, here's a LINK to the Hasleo cloning product (FREE version included in the Backup Suite), incl. a comparison chart at the bottom between the available versions.

The cloning option contained in the Backup Suite is exactly the same as the standalone FREE version of Hasleo Disk Clone. I have used it and it works fine... although offering the same issues as other cloning software when both the source and target disk are left in the machine after cloning...

v5.0 is exactly that... v5.0. The .3 is nothing more than a sub-release of the 1st minor version (v5.0). The current minor version (as of yesterday) is v5.2... the sub-release # is .2.0 making the full release at this point v5.2.2.0 (file/properties/details) of the installer).

Blocking won't help, it's a time bomb. They're doing it to keep from having to respond to/support older versions due to their very limited development staff. That's their official position on the issue...

The Hasleo Backup Suite has changed significantly since that time... definitely worth a try.
