  1. Solved What's happening with my RAM usage?

I have never seen Windows notifying that it needs more RAM, sorry. Even less with 32 GB. When Windows doesn't have any memory left, it just writes on the pagefile. That's how it works.
  2. Solved What's happening with my RAM usage?

Well, it's obvious. By design, virtual memory is there to compensate for an eventual lack of RAM, by creating a paging file on a storage support. It just can't have any negative impact on the very thing it's supposed to improve, which is memory usage % ! 😂
  3. Solved What's happening with my RAM usage?

@krism But virtual memory isn't RAM. So having a 13 GB file in a SSD shouldn't have any negative influence on RAM usage.
  4. Solved What's happening with my RAM usage?

Thanks guys :) @Ed Tittel , first of all, never trust an AI 😂 Just kidding. About your quote, the "Hardware Reserved" is visible in my first screenshot ("Réserve paginée"), and it's only 1.5 GB, so it doesn't explain much. I guess I just don't understand the discrepancy between Task Manager...
  5. Solved What's happening with my RAM usage?

Indeed @Berton , my virtual memory setting is at default, so the system has set it to the C: drive (M.2 SSD), and... the current allocated size seems off the charts! Look at this screen. Recommended = 4.8 GB, current = 13.6 GB. What?
  6. Solved What's happening with my RAM usage?

Hi krism. Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough. The purpose of this thread is to understand what's happening (hence the title), not to find a "restart/reboot" workaround ;-) I know stopping browsers and/or rebooting will solve it, but that won't help me understand. For the record, it happens to...
  7. Solved What's happening with my RAM usage?

Hi guys. I have a recent rig (Ryzen 7700 + 32 GB DDR5 @ 6000 MT/s), running Win 11. My task manager tells me that my 32 GB are 88% full, even though I'm not doing anything special. The unused RAM is only 3.6 GB. As you can see from this screen cap, the sum of all active processes (mostly my...
  8. Random mouse left-click problem

Thank you. I have just checked for peace of mind, and both of these settings are correct (no checkboxes ticked). The problem must be elsewhere.
  9. Solved Adding MediaInfo to the context menu (again)

Please refrain from pointlessly criticizing when you don't know the specifics. Thank you.
  10. Random mouse left-click problem

Hi everybody :-) I have a noname USB vertical mouse. I've been using the same kind of vertical mice for years, usually changing them every couple of years or so. They're not very solid, but they work perfectly. This one (the latest) also works perfectly with Win 11, except for one annoying...
  11. Solved Adding MediaInfo to the context menu (again)

Oh wow @rseiler , you just made my day! THANK YOU!! :D I now understand what was going on: I have indeed the K-Lite Codec Pack (I would never have realized this was the cause ) I remember that around Christmas (so around the same time when I messed with the context menu), UniGetUI told...
  12. Solved Adding MediaInfo to the context menu (again)

Hi Steve, happy new year :-) I don't have any "show more options": I'm using StartAllBack with classic context menu. It all used to work perfectly until a few days ago, so I'm pretty sure that it was me messing with the context menu. Maybe someone could help me check the Registry and see what's...
  13. Solved Adding MediaInfo to the context menu (again)

Hi everybody, Well, this is my fault (probably). To my surprise, today I have noticed that MediaInfo doesn't appear anymore in the context menu when I right-click on a video file (mp4, mkv, etc). I use MediaInfo a lot, so this is a real problem for me. Drag-n-dropping the file on MediaInfo...
  14. About Device Encryption

I'm happy that my Drive Encryption is off now, and that I have survived all the BSODs. I just hope that such Drive Encryption won't magically and silently turn on again with a future major Windows update. "Highly unlikely" you'll say. But hey, it's Microsoft. 🤷‍♂️
  15. About Device Encryption

Thank you ☺️ Well, my aim is to follow this french tutorial: https://www.malekal.com/creer-live-cd-malekal-depanner-ordinateur/ It's based on a minimalist Windows (11 I guess, judging by the screenshots), with some tools. So hopefully it will be signed, otherwise it would be pointless, right...
