Edit 2: Microsoft SaRA resolved the issue by running a OLicenseCleanup.vbs. So that confirms that something breaks and is fixed by a cleanup operation, but that still doesn't indicate what the problem is or how to prevent it.

This issue has finally been resolved as of the latest Audio driver version: 6.0.9509 (A72)

No good. Beta drivers failed to solve the issue.

We tried that with the MaxxAudio stuff, and it had very little discernable effect. The best result so far has been not using Plantronics, though Dell tells me that other devices (like speakers and speaker bars) are showing the issue as well.

I'll be beta testing a new driver from Dell shortly.

Lol. All I know is that the $15 cheap chinese headsets that look exactly like the Plantronics headsets, and sound as good, work without a problem. Dell did recommend Jabra though, just from the engineer's personal experience.

Yes, sorry, Dell indicated to me last week or the week that driver fix from Intel is taking longer than they expected. The issue occurs when the headset receives certain frequencies (that's how it was described to me). Therefore, Dell would be implementing a driver that would restrict headsets...
