I have another DP to DVI cable on order as a sanity check. In the meantime I contacted Nvidia and after explaining the situation to their tech support, they asked if I knew the DP version the card was using (I had no idea) becuase they weren't able to find out from the card spec sheet...

I'm tempted to try it, but just don't have the time right now. I decided to buy direct from HP. This machine seems pretty decent at around the same price as the previous returned machines. HP Envy Desktop TE01-5100t, i7-14700F, 32 GB DDR4 ram, 1 TB SSD, NVidia 4060 graphics card.

I went the extra mile and got in touch with HP support (almost 2 hours). Tried new firmware, updated BIOS, etc. The Tech finally agreed it was a hardware problem. The cables and monitors used for testing were proven to work on another system. It's time to ship another one back for refund...

Ok, I thought since it had dual DP ports it would support 2 monitors. I have no additional graphics card. I guess it was wishful thinking on it not being a hardware issue…. I’m really having poor luck with a new PC. You’re right. I should just return it.

Zbook, I did download and install HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI, but I don't see it show up in my apps list. Is it something only avaiable when you are in BIOS?

The final update on this one; I sent the machine back for the 3rd time with instructions to not ship back to me until I received commnication from technician on what was wrong and to verify they were able to get eh machine to boot up on its own. A week later I get a note that they were unable...

Thanks, John. No blinking cursor at top left. I think the UEFI settings you refer to are accessed within Windows. I don't think it will run long enough to access anything. I think I'm going to send it back a 3rd time and demand a refund if they can't fix it. They give me pre-paid shipping...

That didn't work either... It reset everything, but failed fully boot. Could it be a hardware issue? I went ahead and reinstalled from my Rufus usb (clean install but with using MS account code number). It made it all the way through to desktop. Without touching it, about 2 minutes later...

I tried it again and this time if completed the attempt and 'could not repair'. I'm trying the 'reset PC with Windows 11 from the cloud. What the hell, worth a try...

This all checked out but reboot did not work. I booted off flash drive and selected Repair, then Start Up Repair. I got to 'attempting repair' before the screen went dark a few seconds later. Ugh.

I'll take a look at BIOS and see if it's booting from Windows boot manager.

Well, Something funny is going on... I ended up using Rufus, since it had step by step instructions that were easier to follow. I successfully created the bootable usb and 'burned' the iso for Windows 11 (Win11_23H2_English_x64v2.iso) that I had previously downloaded. I was able to boot up...
