    Ok so I have a StarTech.com USB 2.0 Hard Drive Docking Station. When I plug in a WD Red 4Tb drive in, will split the disk up. It was a controller limitation in the docking station! ;-) . Tried Windows Disk Management and Disk Genius to see if it was a software problem. If I plug it in directly...

    If it's all working ok now and your happy with it, I would not update the Bios unless you have a problem related to a specific area.

    Do you have any Bios screen shots of the problem? Have a fat 32 formatted usb stick in a usb 2.0 port and press f12 to capture...

    Do you have any other disk management programs? I use Disk Genius... DiskGenius: Data Recovery, Partition Manager, Backup & Disk Utilities

    Did you follow the "Crucial" instructions that are with the driver? What program did you use for cloning to your new drive?

    When you open "Device Manager" you need to be looking at "Storage Controllers" for the "Crucial" driver.

    Use standard MS drivers for the M.2 drive. Can you show us a screen shot of the "Disk Management"

    Boot times will be longer due to PCIe lane sharing! So turn off Sata port 5/6 and just use ports 1/4. That's how I setup my bios.

    You need PCIe mode... if you can... so you don't share PCIe lanes. Why do you need to zero a SSD? do you mean format?
