I switched recently. There are advantages and disadvantages. However the disadvantages are few and easily surmountable for my requirements. I like Thunderbird and will stick with it.
If you are having trouble getting into the BIOS/UEFI settings, try this:
Settings > System > Recovery > Advanced start up > Restart Now.
Then you will get a menu on reboot, from which you choose Troubleshoot > Advanced > UEFI settings, which will restart again and take you into the BIOS...

I think the 'install part' probably also includes communication between your device and the remote server. I'd say your download speed is the main culprit. I have 900Mb/s download speed - so 15x faster.
For me the cumulative update was really quite quick. The desktop took about 7-8 minutes, but the laptop (ARM based windows) was really quick at about 4-5 minutes.
