  1. Creating minutes from a recorded meeting

I think I will need to improve the recording quality and also for some better meeting discipline! Anyway - thanks for the help. Useful recording apps in general.
  2. Creating minutes from a recorded meeting

I'll see if I can install that tomorrow - it's bed-time here! Thanks for the suggestions.
  3. Creating minutes from a recorded meeting

It was a Samsung app. Do you use an external microphone with the Goole app?
  4. Creating minutes from a recorded meeting

A recently bought one - Samsung S24 - so can't blame that. The issue is the volume of different voices, male and female, sat around a table. So it is more of a microphone issue.
  5. Creating minutes from a recorded meeting

We may have different terminology between Canada and the UK, or different business approaches! Minutes to me, for each agenda item, is a brief summary of the discussion, the decision and the action. It could be listed as bullet points though usually (to me) each item is numbered according to...
  6. Creating minutes from a recorded meeting

Thanks Edwin. Tried it but as you said, result was a compete mess. A lot seemed pure invention! I wasn't that hopeful that it would work as meeting was recorded using my phone. Quality good enough for human intelligence but not AI. Minutes secretary will be disappointed!
  7. Creating minutes from a recorded meeting

I have just been at a 2 hour B&W meeting and am experimenting on how to create minutes from the audio recoding. The recording was done using my phone. I have transferred the resulting mp3 file to my PC. Next stage is to find an app to convert the audio recoding to a text file. Two or three ways...
  8. Microsoft at it again - Copilot

I don't think any method would be pain free apart from surgical removal under local or general anaesthetic. The rubber band method used to be used to shorten dogs tails before the practice was made illegal in the UK. Don't know about other countries. I'm sure I've seen the Yorkshire Vet * doing...
  9. Microsoft at it again - Copilot

Out of curiosity I looked up the Dutch word for Onomatopoeia - it is klanknabootsing. Lovely! Using the "if only it were English" to translate it back it's a much more descriptive word than Onomatopoeia
  10. Microsoft at it again - Copilot

I have not really tried any of these AI apps but as my typing skills. never true touch, deteriorate I am inclined to try them. And the God given intelligence is gradually going. I was rather bothered yesterday, when commenting on getting to the stage where I forget words, that as long as I...
  11. Microsoft at it again - Copilot

I share the views on AI. I was able to find the switch off tick box under File - Options - Copilot @kelper - from the text on pseymour's link, it has been moved from Add-ins and given its own heading as from yesterday, 16 January! In my version of Office 365 that is where it is. Thank you all.
  12. Microsoft at it again - Copilot

Both my wife's and my computers were updated yesterday. Good - no issue with that. But why add Copilot to Word? We both find that on opening a new document in Word (and possibly elsewhere - haven't checked other things) this appears when I open anew document. We do not want it. How do I get rid...
  13. Word not finding my personal Word Templates

My personal Word templates are in D:\Office\Word\Personal Templates. Using File - Options - Advanced - General - File Locations I changed the location of User Templates to D:\Office\Word\Personal Templates However when I go to File - New to open a new document, clicking on Personal, I get the...
  14. What are good PDF editors, besides Adobe Acrobat Pro?

Thanks for the suggestion. Will check it out.
  15. What are good PDF editors, besides Adobe Acrobat Pro?

Sorry - Awakening an old but useful thread. However many reasonably say that it depends on what one wants without being specific. I no longer need the power of the Adobe version I used when either the employer paid or later, it was at least tax deductible. Now I just need to be able to open a...
