  1. Windows 11, version 23H2 (repair version)

Yep, Personally think Win 1123H2, belongs in the MS Hall of fame, along with Excel, MS Word, and Windows 2000. 😊
  2. Windows 11, version 23H2 (repair version)

Yes, of course.. I assume, only people with time to waste, are trying to run Win 1124H2, on non SSE4.2 cpus.
  3. Windows 11, version 23H2 (repair version)

Updating Win 11 23H2, to Win 11 24H2, on "unsupported machine", requires specific process. This process works, and I have even verified it on VMs.
  4. Windows 11, version 23H2 (repair version)

How did you initially install Windows?

  6. Microsoft Pulls support for Intel 8th, 9th & 10th Gen Processors for Windows 11 24H2

Yes, I'm aware Apple are even worse than Micro$oft, for forcing h/w upgrades. I only need Windows for Office 365, and Mac OSX is probably the "nicest" OS desktop. However, I do find Macbook Pro hardware, some of the most unreliable/prone to break down, as opposed to Dell or Lenovo. So I'll...
  7. Microsoft Pulls support for Intel 8th, 9th & 10th Gen Processors for Windows 11 24H2

We'll see, what the Micro$oft cpu support shenanigans, actually evaluate to. Maybe I should start "liquidating", some of my 8th gen laptops, while they are still worth something. Also considering cheap Macbook Pro 2018+, for running Office 365.
  8. Microsoft Pulls support for Intel 8th, 9th & 10th Gen Processors for Windows 11 24H2

Next date of decision for me will be 11-11-2025 (Win 23H2 EOL). If I can't install Win 24H2, on Xeon V4 CPU based Machine, via Rufus or Registry ploy, then I'll purchase Dell 5820, for approx £250 GBP. Pretty simple, no drama needed.
  9. For all the people who believe aditional Antivirus software, is not necessary..

I'm a Linux dude, but have Windows 11 boxes, for logging onto work via Citrix, for running Office 365, printing/scanning, sometimes Linux printer/scanner support sucks. . I never browse on Windows I always trusted Kaspersky on my Windows boxes, never had issue with it, or on family member...
  10. For all the people who believe aditional Antivirus software, is not necessary..

Great post, great regime.. To be honest, I was so disgusted with some of the "pitch fork mob" like responses to this thread, for daring to question MS Windows Defender, I almost left this place, for good.
  11. For all the people who believe aditional Antivirus software, is not necessary..

An "informed", "non emotional" article, on Security researchers "analysis", of a plug X variant. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/plugx-malware-hides-on-usb-devices-to-infect-new-windows-hosts/ So I guess "Plug X", is "not so targeted", and may well be languishing on many...
  12. For all the people who believe aditional Antivirus software, is not necessary..

It proves, reliance on just Windows security, is not wise.
  13. For all the people who believe aditional Antivirus software, is not necessary..

As a cyber security dude, I'll never accept, free antivirus/anti malware solutions, will be as effective, as solutions, with required R&D budget, and priced accordingly.
