Why one computer gives the message as posted in the thread subject, and other computers offer 23H2 and 24H2 as part of a standard Windows update process.
LOL much ... this is part of my daily work life, dealing with what I generously call Microsoft 'idiosyncrasies'.
I can tell you categorically, that only two weeks ago, I was checking a Windows 11 Pro computer for Windows updates. It offered the 23H2 feature update. I installed it, it took ages. After that, it offered the 24H2 update, I did that as well, same story.

The point of my post is not to have to go through a complicated process to get past 22H2, but to understand why it is not available as part of the usual Windows update process as I have experienced on other computers for 23H3/24H2.

I was recently working on a Windows 11 Pro 22H2 machine and trying to run the Windows update check. Instead of being prompted to install 23H2 (then 24H2) which I have experienced on other desktops and laptops, I am getting the attached message.
"Get the newer version of Windows to stay up...
