OK nice, looks promising. Insta trying it out. Was just surprised that it hadn't been thrown in to this discussion so far but better late than never. Will report back on whether it fixes anything. @jed maybe too?
Probably @jed is having the same issue I am having and clarifying it is ... hm... well, the whole explorer navigation back n forth is lagging big time ... one reboots and it's sorta ok but over time it becomes slow again.
Just chiming in, look at this exact post here ... #post-577852

Hi again, back to explorer AutoSuggest I just saw the same recommendation given here
plus an extra recommendation with the WindowsRunHistoryEditor https://www.ghacks.net/2011/07/25/windows-run-history-editor but after trying it out, sadly explorer still keeps the autosuggest history and throws...
Thank you for following up and I understand that the thread might have gotten a bit blurry. So, at least for me it ended up at the following - I dont care about which style Explorer I use - modern or classic - all I care about is that it stops being sluggish which started happening after all...
I am gonna have to try this because the nightmare with AutoSuggest keeps happening after the regedit "AutoSuggest"="No" and a reboot. Still, thanks @dacrone. As you said yourself, it "SHOULD disable it but doesnt always work" so it didn't work here.
For me the Glitches with Windhawk were with the vertical taskbar. Again, I am on a business machine, so the organisation controls a ton here.
Ditto, echo to "File Explorer with tabs is still a bugfest of cataclysmic proportions" - I mean, either make it all fully and only consistently working...
Thanks for this input.
1) - insta trying it out
2) - tried it and its mods, albeit great as concepts, behave glitchy on my work machine
3) - tried it and I am not saying it's its fault but all this switching back n forth made things even more glitchy so therefore looking for a fresh start
