  1. Boot Manager

    Yes.
  2. Boot Manager

As long as you are careful what you do with the guest OS and have an updated antivirus, I would not worry.
  3. Boot Manager

This affects computers that have enabled hardware virtualization in BIOS. If you don't have hardware virtualization enabled, there is no risk.
  4. Boot Manager

The Memory Integrity isolation is only relevant when using virtual machines, so you isolate the host from the guest OS. If you don't run virtual machines, or you don't care because you are careful what you do in the guest OS, then you can turn it off. In Windows 10 it is off by default, so it...
  5. Boot Manager

Of course I wouldn't throw away such an expensive system! I would just bypass compatibility check and install Windows 11 in my system. I could not care less about Microsoft's warning that all Hell will break loose. Plain BS! Nothing will happen. The only thing I am missing are features not...
  6. Boot Manager

I will just repeat what I have said in other threads. If you bypass compatibility check and install Windows 11 on an unsupported computer (in his case without TPM 2.0), security level remains the SAME as it is running Windows 10. It is not as by magic becomes less, as Microsoft wants you to...
  7. Boot Manager

That's the issue you have because you have a Windows 11 compliant PC with TPM 2.0 I have an unsupported computer and peace of mind (I wish)... :p
  8. Solved Windows Common ActiveX Controls 6.0 missing when loading AVStoDVD

I recently had an issue and I want to share my experience to help others with that issue. I was reading the post titles in this forum to find any post I can contribute or learn from it, when a title that there is an update to Visual C++ runtime (or similar) caught my eye. I clicked on the link...
  9. Laptop Battery Level dropping like a stone.

By the way, is there a power bank suitable to charge a laptop battery? It would be handy when traveling, although I imagine it might be bulky and heavy...
  10. Laptop Battery Level dropping like a stone.

It is still bad, but does fewer damage to the battery than keep it always 100%. Why don't you just use the battery for a couple of hours and plug the charger when 20% or less? You don't even need to do that. Just connect the charger to a socket with on/off switch and leave it plugged. You just...
  11. Laptop Battery Level dropping like a stone.

I have set the critical battery level in my laptop to 5%. I hardly have any time to plug the charger when I see the warning but the battery goes as close to 0 as possible. It is OK if it goes under 10% before charging. It doesn't have to be absolutely 0. Mine lasted about 6 hours while watching...
  12. Laptop Battery Level dropping like a stone.

Start charging at 95% means the battery is constantly charging when connected to the AC adapter and is screwed. I would let it fall and charge below 20% or when I get the respective warning from Windows.
  13. System backup says new Crucial x9 Pro is not formatted for NTSF

I remember back in the 90's, to install Windows 95 or 98 on a new disk, you had to create the partition using the fdisk command. This would take some minutes, it wasn't as fast as it is now. Then you had to format the disk and there wan no quick format available. The full format would take ages...
  14. Western Digital has reportedly exited the SSD market

As long as the quality remains top, I don't care if my disk is WD or SanDisk.
  15. System backup says new Crucial x9 Pro is not formatted for NTSF

You can copy-paste the Crucial software on your desktop and then format to NTFS. To do that, open This PC, right-click on the USB disk and select Format. Change to NTFS and proceed. Check the box to do the quick format so you don't wait over an hour to complete.
