  1. Windows Keeps Creating New Network Profile Registry Entries

Yep, I go in and clear them up every so often. It happens on both my LAN and WiFi networks. Adds an ascending number like 2, 3 and so on. Is an annoyance mostly. I even delete the original without the numeration and everything still works, may have to enter passkey again on reboot.
  2. Solved Weird WinZip behavior (Error 740: The requested operation requires elevation)

Not good to assume so I'll ask. Latest version and tried uninstalling, reboot, then reinstall?
  3. Solved Weird WinZip behavior (Error 740: The requested operation requires elevation)

Old 7-Zip user here so not much help. No issues with it. Did you try going manually into the exe and set the privileges for the user account?
  4. Does Replacing a Motherboard Necessitate Having to Reinstall Windows from Scratch?

Lol. If you have the upgrade key just use the key you were given. You can also use the phone number activation, I done that several times in the past.
  5. Does Replacing a Motherboard Necessitate Having to Reinstall Windows from Scratch?

My experience is no. I've swapped SSD between totally different laptops and everything went well. Can take awhile to fully boot and may have to restart a few times. Check device manager after you get a full boot and see if anything needs updated. As said, best to make a full backup or image...
  6. Win Update KB5053598 Windows 11 Cumulative Update build 26100.3476 (24H2) - March 11

I believe Open-Shell caused my taskbar and start menu to disappear after the update. Got everything working eventually. Will be sure to uninstall it before doing future updates. Hindsight is 20/20.
  7. Update fails?

Just want to say KB5053598 broke me for a bit. My taskbar and start menu completely disappeared. Can't say exactly what fixed it as I jumped through so many hoops in the process of getting it working again. I did originally also get the BSOD after trying to install it when I unpaused updates. I...
  8. Power surge on the USB port

That added to the mix makes it appear to be more than just USB issue. Makes sure you have latest BIOS as andrew129260 suggests.
  9. Power surge on the USB port

    Is it a new motherboard?
  10. Power surge on the USB port

No other keyboard? Kind of looks like the keyboard could have an issue and trying to draw more power than the specs say it should.
  11. NVMe shows as Removable in Windows

From all the comments this looks like something MSI needs to correct in BIOS if it is possible.
  12. Latest Firefox released for Windows

Time to stir the pot. Wish Firefox and Chrome would have option for yellow bookmark bar folders. I know, pretty much a dead horse no point requesting it officially anymore. Wanting to cry about it here is all.
  13. Failing Lexar SSD - possibility of recovering data?

I was referring to raw data drives with Windows boot partitions so if the other drive is an image there should be no problem. Also if USB is not selected in the drive hierarchy in BIOS as a boot drive then there should be no problem.[/USER]
  14. Failing Lexar SSD - possibility of recovering data?

Want to add that two boot drives connected at the same time can cause strange behavior.
