  1. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

I see one or more posts of folks attempting to volunteer useful information have been deleted, which I don't quite understand the reason for. Also, it has been implied that perhaps I was mistaken when I stated that the settings in my two identical monitors were set identically and that yet the...
  2. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

Thank you for your input. I cannot find any independent settings in Win11 or my computer for the two monitor outputs. As mentioned, I tweaked the settings in both monitors to be identical, and yet the colors apprear noticeably different on the two (identical) monitors. Web searching about any...
  3. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

Thanks, antsy. Both my monitors are 2K 170 Hz.
  4. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

One more question -- for my Monitor #1, would I realize any potential improvement in refresh rate and / or picture by removing the DisplayPort to HDMI cable and purchasing & installing a DisplayPort to DIsplayPort cable?
  5. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

Thanks for the suggestion, ansty. The display splitter you linked is not currently available. I did find various other splitters, most seem quite pricey, over $100. I'll have to spend some time researching those.
  6. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

OK, thank you. With the additional information that you all have provided me with here, I have to conclude sadly, that I might have little to gain by trying to do what I described in this thread, and that perhaps I might have to stick with the HDMI to HDMI cable for my 2nd monitor. I am...

Thank you. You all are so kind and helpful on this forum. Mad respect to you all ...
  8. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

Thank you. The descrip for that cable says it is NOT HDMI to displayport transmission. I need a cable to go from computer HDMI output to DisplayPort monitor input. Therefore the signal direction won't work for my application. Plus it only supports 60Hz, so I would gain nothing in refresh rate.
  9. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

This is the cable I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FDGBCN6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 I see now that this cable is apparently uni-directional in the wrong direction for my application. 🤷
  10. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

One more item of relevant information -- I played with the settings on both monitors, and found that even with the settings set identical on the two monitors, the monitor fed from the computer Display Port, has better colors, and whites are whiter, even bluish white (my preference) than the...
  11. Solved Cabling Question: Two Displays, Monitors have 2 HDMI Ports + a Display Port

Greetings, I have two identical new displays. They each have 2 HDMI inputs and one Display Port input. For output to monitors, my desktop computer has one Display Port and one HDMI port. Due to the 60 Hz Refresh rate limitation on the HDMI cable, and that my monitors are both capable of...
  12. Solved "Permanent" Numbers on 2nd Monitor, How to Remove

Running two 27" MSI G27C452 Monitors. I did just take your suggestion, and I reset the offending monitor, eh voila, the numbers have disappeared! That solved the problem. Thank you both so much! 👍
  13. Solved "Permanent" Numbers on 2nd Monitor, How to Remove

Thanks for your response. No, not running any third party clock. And nothing happens if I double-click the number.
  14. Solved "Permanent" Numbers on 2nd Monitor, How to Remove

I bought two new identical monitors recently. This didn't happen at first, but within days it did. On Monitor #2, there is a number in the upper left hand corner: 60:00 It is always there, on the home screen, plus it overlays any and all browsers when open. Please see link to attached pic...
