Thank you, is it true that the $RECICLE.BIN folder will be recreated next time Windows mounts the file system?

I have an external HDD which is formatted as NFTS so it contains $RECICLE.BIN folder. I'm no longer using Windows but I'm keeping the HDD formatted as NTFS in case I need it on some other computer. Problem is that the recycle bin folder is not empty, there are files that were deleted in Windows...

If by factory reset you mean "Reset this PC" then file attributes are very likely reset except for personal files if you choose to keep them.
