hey
this is somthing thats been on my mind for a while since i went from a corsair eleite capelix 420 AIO to a CM 212 Black edition because i went from a full ATX case to a micro case.

my temps are in the relm of good, full chat im hitting about 85c on a good day but the fan dose kick up a tad which dose not bother me all that much as i use headphones most of the times.

i have been thinking of getting another AIO for not just cooling but astetics too
i wanted to nab this one as it has a live screen which would be handy to me but i cant justify spending that on somthing that may or may not
drop temps a little.

what do you think?

I'm confused. That NZXT cooler is a 360mm one.

If you're sticking with the Golden Field 7681, the largest spec'd cooler is 240mm.

A 240mm version of the Kraken exists.

The 5800x3D is rated at 105W, so you may not benefit much from a super cooler.

im aware of the 240, i only chose the bigger one because the front can support the 360 but if i had to choose ide rather go top rad over front rad setup :)

Is the manufacturer's spec for the Golden Field 7681 incorrect?

I've never seen one. I admit that it's not clear to me why it could take three 120mm fans in the front, but not a 360mm cooler. It could be because of a thickness limitation for the bottom fan.

Radiators have tanks on 2 ends so they are longer than total of fans by some 50mm usually because fans don't cover tanks.

85C, even at only full multicore load, means that the PPT is most likely set to 142W.

With the X3D, it appears that you can turn down the PPT to 75W. (PPT= package power tracking, the maximum watts for the CPU chip)

There should be ECO setting in BIOS that does that automatically.

True.

But still speculative. "Toasty92" hasn't responded.

It doesn't even look like you need 140W for the default core frequencies anyways. But the "conventional" 5800X, (the variant without 3D cache) needs the extra watts and does run at a higher frequency.

sorry this is a bump to a old thread, if im honest a few things happened in the personal life and i genuinely forgot to check up, i have an update though, i went back to my big case and the 420 AIO, after further reading i found i was being paranoid of temps, i have left the cpu stock as much reading advised againts trying to overclock too which i kinda knew before i bought it, on full chat its now a nice 50-60c which to me is much nicer, thank you everyone for replying and once again sorry for going quiet.
