OS
Windows 11
Hello,

In Windows 10 I used to have Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos listed under This PC (see image below). With Windows 11 it is not the case. How can I get these back?

I found the following thread about it on this forum which shows how to download registry entries and to get these folders restored. However, I have downloaded the entries and ran them, but the folders are still not appearing. I have restarted my laptop afterwards and I cannot get these folders back.

I found other websites too that showed how to import registry entries to restore these folders, but I still don't have these folders.

Can anyone please help.

I have Windows 11 Home Edition.

Many thanks,

Hello Diwedd, and welcome. :alien:

Just to note, the tutorial you mentioned below will only add the "Folders" section back in "This PC" like below instead of your screenshot area.

@ Brink: Thanks for your reply. I would like to see Downloads, Documents, Music, Pictures, and Videos under This PC. I followed the instructions from the tutorial and it has not made any difference.

In the image you posted I can see those folders on the right hand side under This PC, but I would like them to be listed under This PC on the left hand side (as per the image I posted which shows the view in Windows 10). Is this possible?

Unfortunately, it will not add them back to that navigation pane area. Only in the main window of File Explorer > This PC instead.

The "This PC" navigation pane area is now just for drives.

You can "Pin to Quick access" these folders to have available in the navigation pane like below though.

Oh, well that solves my problem, so to speak. I will add them to the Quick access then.
