Does anyone know a method or software that will allow me to customize Windows so that I can
use one font on some folders names and an entirely different font for other folder names?

No because this uses your default system font. You can do what I've done on some folders to have variation between folder names. I developed my own naming conventions...all caps for certain folders, a leading number in folder name for some.

No, but...,
QTTabBar helps to change the color of the fonts...

Leave the box un-checked to do only one file...

Thanks for your input guys; I accomplished the functionality by writing my own file manager last month. It is very crude and crashes sometimes, but works well enough for me (for now anyway).
