VideoCardz News:
The rumors were true: new Ryzen CPUs for the AM4 socket have arrived. We didn't have to wait long for an update from motherboard makers, although the names of these SKUs had been mentioned months ago.
Today, AMD launched two Ryzen 5 SKUs, both 6-core, 12-thread variants based on Vermeer silicon. These are the original desktop models with Zen 3 architecture, not the mobile variant known as Cezanne. This means users get a larger cache and PCle 4.0 support (Cezanne does not support it). Gamers should expect better gaming performance with double-digit improvements, at least that's what former SKUs were showing.
The two new models are the Ryzen 5 5600XT and Ryzen 5 5600T. Both are faster than their predecessors (the 5600X and 5600). The 5600XT offers a 3.8 GHz base clock and 4.7 GHz boost clock, 100 MHz higher than the 5600X. Similarly, the 5600T provides a 3.7 GHz base clock and a 4.5 GHz boost clock, 200 MHz and 100 MHz higher, respectively, than the 5600.
We also have pricing information, as AMD has already listed these CPUs in their official store through Amazon.
