Any Interdependencies Between MS 365 and MS 365 (Office) ?

I'd like to remove Office from my laptop. But I am wondering if there might be any interdependencies between the two?

They're the same thing, but the bottom one is probably just a placeholder app since it's only 8KB or really just a shortcut. It shouldn't cause any issues to leave or remove it.

Thanks to the responders! I want Word and Excel and PowerPoint but I want to get rid of Outlook. The problem is that some times clicking on an email link tries to take me to Outlook which I don't want to use and then I start to get a series of popups which I can get rid of only by rebooting the laptop. Is it possible to get rid of just Outlook? (BTW I used to be able to reboot without loosing my many Chrome sessions, but now those Chrome sessions aren't there following a reboot.) Thanks, Bob

The Microsoft 365 (Office), aka Office Hub, is bloatware!
Everything you have in your real Office Suite is merely mirrored in that app! You can do without it.

Nope - it's all or nothing. Whatever is giving you popups is not MS 365 or its components.

What are you posting about, Bob, Office or Chrome. Chrome is probably another thread.

Check your default programs for email? If you don’t want links to open Outlook, what do you want them to open?
Also, it’s probably opening the Outlook (New) App not Microsoft 365 Outlook (Classic). Just a guess.

You can uninstall the Outlook (New) app, right click on “Outlook (New)“ in your start menu and select Uninstall.

So what’s your proffered mail app, Bob?

Thank you antspants. I hadn't thought about the fact that my default email app is Chrome. I've now changed that and expect that my problem is fixed now. Thanks very much to you and to all the other responders. Bob
