Hi there
I'm looking for a "stand alone" video cam which can record continuously either to sd card or external USB device and would also like it to be linked to a front door device so I can get a call on mobile phone if either intruder warning or visitor e.g Amazon delivery item(s). The device should be network linked to my internal LAN (taht probably is the easy bit).

I don't want a multitude of cameras etc etc -- one device should be able to handle this -- I'm not running the CIA or GCHQ !!

Windows should be able to recognize the device so I can look at the security recording at any time if I'm on Windows.

Cheers
jimbo

Tapo makes some pretty good stuff.

I have one of their older indoor cams that rotates I think it’s 280deg, tilts up and down, all remotely from a phone app. Response time is really good. I can only imagine they are much better now. They can be set to surveillance so as you continuously pan from left to right, up or down as per your configuration in a continuous action.

I put a 512GB Micro SDHC card in it and it loops when card is full..
It sends notifications with quite a few configurations as to when and why.
You can also subscribe to their online cloud for direct upload of video/monitoring.

What you probably need is a ring cam. (Video Doorbell) I believe it can start recording when someone rings the doorbell or just from detected movement.
