I need some help!

One the personalisation of desktop colour options I'm able to choose is automatic accent colour - now this takes the main colour of the desktop picture (background) and automatically makes it the accent colour, I am able to choose between AUTOMATIC and MANUAL. In the past this always worked - and yes, I know about the accent colour only works in dark mode. My windows 11 is in dark mode and sometimes automatic does work but most times it doesn't. I've resorted to choosing a manual accent colour because windows 11 insists that it going to use brown all (or at least most) of the time. It may be related to a shutdown issue that I've currently got, my windows will shut down it just does not display the shutting down or restarting screen - I haven't noticed any problems with the screen that appears when updates are installing but since most of the time no screen is displayed on shut down or restart, I don't know if updates are installing or not. This leads me to think that there must be a problem elsewhere that is causing this. Please help if you can.

If you use dark mode or light mode everywhere, strange things happen with colors. You can select to use light mode in applications and dark mode only in Windows and that way colors stay as they should.

Thankyou for your response, it didnt really help but as I say I think its the version of windows 11 that I have got, a friend loaded it onto my computer although my computer didnt meet the requirements. But strange thing is that it worked in the past.
