20th Feb 20215, 14:01 - Windows 11 24H2 Build 26100.3194
Had been on my HP Desktop device for about 20 minutes with the red BDTS icon showing at RHS of taskbar but suddenly a Windows 11 pop-up appeared showing “Turn on virus protection”. I looked and the BD icon had disappeared? Seems that BD had stopped running in the background. After restarting the device it reappeared as normal.
I installed BD on 28th Jan 2025 and it has worked fine in the 23 days since.
It's good to see that Windows stepped in to protect me from continuing unaware that there was no AV running but has anyone else had this issue with BDTS?

You may have a different number in the UK, I don't know.
But that's the number I call here in the US.
And, as mentioned above, it's free. You already paid for it as part of your yearly fee.

I think I know what happened. The day after the same thing happened on my DELL laptop but this time Bitdefender showed a pop up alerting me that it was updating in the background. This didn't happen on my HP device. The icon duly disappeared and the Windows 11 pop up showed advising me to turn on my security but this time I didn't restart the computer. I waited for the BD icon to reappeared and the Windows alert disappeared.
Solved. I think.
