Solved Bluetooth Blues -- again!

This earbud bt was working fine until a few days ago. It is skitterish but I always got it to work. I contact Lenovo support and they gave me a long list of stuff to try. I tried them all. Windows wants to tell me I have no connection - when I say "add device" sometimes the name of my earbud comes up - it says PAIRING and then sits - then says No connection. When it was working, it showed up in device manager. Now it does not show up. One of the suggestions was to uninstall from the device manager. Cannot do if not listed. Anyway, any thoughts? Thanks.

If you enable Show Hidden Devices it should appear.

If your Bluetooth is disabled then do the following to enable it.
Uninstall the device from device manager and restart Bluetooth service.
Start > services.msc
Right-click "Bluetooth Support Service."
Choose Automatic.
Go to device manager and right-click on your computer name and click "Scan for hardware changes"
Install the Bluetooth device drivers from the manufacturer's website, if any.

If the device isn’t showing under device manager or under show hidden devices then shutdown the pc, unplug the power cable & then reconnect, then go to device manager & see if there’s any unknown devices showing, if so uninstall this & then scan for hardware changes & hopefully Bluetooth will reappear.

Tried that but still didn't show up. I was also advised to uninstall the network adapter for the device. Found Network Adapters. I just went and looked and it appears to still be there. Also, what is meant by "make sure your laptop is discoverable?" System shows Bluetooth to be ON - is that what is meant?

It usually refers to the Bluetooth device you’re trying to connect to the PC - ensure it & the PC is in pairing mode - but in your case it’s not applicable as BT isn’t showing correctly on your PC.

Also check Devices and Printers in the old Control Panel. If it's disappeared in the new Settings it might still be showing in D&P.
If it's showing there then right click the ear buds and select remove. Try connecting again.

It showed the device and connected many times. So unfamiliar with devices on device manager so not sure what I'm looking for -- as in "unknown devices"...I did try uninstalling the network adapter in device manager - but it showed up again. I am having a hard time understanding why something that has worked for many weeks has stopped due to who knows why...thanks again.

That's ok. Just something that worked once for me with a BT issue. Another is to just reinstall the BT driver 'over the top'. Sometimes it will ask for a reboot'.

Tried it and it shows: I'll let you know...nope. No deal. Maybe a reboot will help after drivers were updated.

The symptoms sound like dying batteries in the earbuds.
If they are a number of years old probably need replacing, assuming the batteries are not accessible/replaceable.

Previously connected devices will show if you enable View > Show hidden devices. Icons are in a lighter blue. But that does not address any problems.

Well didn't last long. Said connected. Went online to listen and bango!! no deal. not connected. I mean we are talking within a 15 minute time span -- something is def interfering with this process and I sure don't know what!

It's normal, don't worry. Don't delve too far into Device Manager details, yuo'll just give yourself a brain hernia.

Look at 'Events' for any device in Device Manager and you will see the same.

what earbuds are we talking about? Samsung? Bose?
I am just curious because you might be barking at a wrong tree. Some earbuds are really fussy to deal with.
