Yes, Rufus works , but ............if you want to make a recovery-disk , you should burn it on DVD .
I disagree. If I burned it on DVD it would only work on 1 computer in my house. I would not be able to use it on the other 6 or 7.
Yes, it's called Rufus. I've been using it since Windows 7 . . . It will even create a USB stick for computers that don't qualify for Windows 11. I'm not sure if it will work for Linux or Mac.
I used Rufus this morning to make a bootable USB to do a clean install of Windows 11 on my old desktop. I used Rufus because I wanted to do the clean install without having to sign-in to my MS account. It worked like a charm.
I don't see why not. It has for me but in terms the win repair on certain issues can be a miss and you'll have to return to a forum for help
It's an ISO, so yes you can do a repair install.
100% yes. There is NOTHING you can do with a DVD Windows boot media that you cannot do with a bootable flash drive.
You got that right. I'd rather do it the easy way with Rufus.If you want the "geek" way to do it, you can install the Windows ADK (only the deployment tools are needed), and then use the OSCDIMG command line tool to create the bootable image.
I create bootable media almost every day and I NEVER use third party utilities to do it.
Before you all jump on me with your comments: Yes, I know most people won't do it this way. I'm merely pointing this out as an alternative.
