Bring back the Location tab to Properties?

Hi, While sorting out something else, I discovered that this tab is missing from Properties for a file. A Google search gave me 4 videos, 3 of which were very fast and showed a key in the Registry that needed a new key adding to it,then copying and pasting something to Rename it, but it wasn't obvious WHAT was being copied and pasted. The 4th went at a better pace and gave the details of what to paste into this key ({4a7ded0a-ad25-11d0-98a8-0800361b1103}) However, it then turned out that the named key was already present! Any ideas?

Hi Brink. I don't know what a shell folder is.
Method 2 of the tutorial you sent me for moving the Desktop back to the User file involved clicking on the Location tab of Properties for the Desktop folder -it didn't have one

The "Desktop" folder is indeed considered a shell folder.

Only the current location of a shell folder will have the "Location" tab. If moved, you'll have to go to where it was moved to.

That one reason why I suggested option 3 in your thread below since it automatically restores the default location without having to know where it was moved to. The only downside is having to manually move anything back from the moved location (if known where).

Why is my Desktop folder on my E drive

Hi, I've just discovered that my Desktop folder is on my E drive, while C:\Users\Me\Desktop only has some weird orphan Pegasus Mail files. Any idea why? And how to sort it?

Odd, but glad you got it sorted. That's what I like about option 3. It doesn't care where it's currently at.
