How sure you are that correct user account password that is used correct one?

If you want, you can enable hidden Administrator user account and reset the user password to blank from hidden Administrator user account.

In this video, you will find detailed instructions on how to enable the hidden administrator account on Windows 11,10, 8, 7 or Vista based computer, by modifying the Windows Registry Offline in case you cannot login to Windows by using another account with admin rights.

I didn't notice you were a brand new member, so welcome.
Thanks for that info on your specs. So you do not have to type it every time you need help, here's how to make it permanent.
At the top of any forum page click your name, Select system specs. Add as much info as you know and then click save.
Don't worry that you don't know all specs. Leave what you don't know blank. Your version of Windows, manufacturer make/model, cpu, ram, and drive info are what's most important.
Then when someone views your specs it shows up like this (mine).

Thank you. I updated this as best as I could. Is there an easier way to fix this? Such as changing my password? i have a 2nd laptop where I can get into MicroSoft. Is there a way to change the password to the laptop that I cannot get into?

I'm using Windows Hello with a four digit PIN. Works for me. If you have a password and forgotten it, you need to reset it.

first things first...

@marjasse, is this your PC or a company / government laptop loaned to you? If so, you'd need to contact the IT department for your issue.

@FreeBooter, I know you love your videos, but not everyone apples to everything!
In this video, you will find detailed instructions on how to enable the hidden administrator account on Windows 11,10, 8, 7 or Vista based computer, by modifying the Windows Registry Offline in case you cannot login to Windows by using another account with admin rights.

And actually, the link @glasskuter posted is far more applicable to the OP's issue and far more easier for a novice.
Windows Build/Version: I think I have windows 11. I have an ASUS laptop.
Is there a way to change the password to the laptop that I cannot get into?
Did you not read glasskuter's #3 post? We can't do it for you. Read the posted link and go from there (assuming you own the PC).

My two cents.

Is there a way to change the password to the laptop that I cannot get into
OK, here it is step by step.
1. Using another device, you need to verify you can still login to your MS account with the password you are using. If you can't, you are using the wrong password OR your account has been hacked and someone has changed your password. Go here to do this. Microsoft account | Sign In or Create Your Account Today – Microsoft

2. If step one failed, You can use the link in Post#3 to attempt account recovery using one of the 2-step verification methods available with MS.
However, changing your MS account password will change your password for all devices where you use a MS account.
Here is that same link shortened. Reset a forgotten Microsoft account password - Microsoft Support.
Try to use this new password to access your laptop.

3. If you still can not get into the laptop using the new password, it indicates file corruption within your laptop. Recovery options are limited and if you do not have your data backed up or synced to onedrive, it will be lost.
Your 2 system recovery options are:
A.. Using installation media to temporarily enable the administrator account as @FreeBooter suggested. Once you can log into the administrator account, from there you can create a new local user account for yourself. (Be sure you give this new account administrator privileges.
B. Clean install windows. Clean Install Windows 11 Tutorial

If you do not feel you can accomplish this on your own, I suggest you seek a reputable repair shop to help you. Good luck.

Is there an easier way to fix this? Such as changing my password? i have a 2nd laptop where I can get into MicroSoft. Is there a way to change the password to the laptop that I cannot get into?

If both laptops are set up to use the same Microsoft account, then they will also have the same password, so it seems odd that you can login to one and not the other. And usually after first setting up the login, you would create a PIN and use that to login. Is it possible that the second laptop (the one you can log into) is set up to login to a local account or a different Microsoft account? Is it possible one of these laptops is a company owned, centrally managed machine? Do you have the "I forgot my password" item on the login page?

I just ran some tests with a Microsoft account Windows login and intentionally typed in the incorrect password multiple times. After 5 or 6 attempts, there was a delay of 20-30 seconds before I could try again, but I was not locked out. However, different options can be configured that can lock your account out completely, which seems to indicate that your laptop may be centrally managed.

If both laptops are personally-owned machines, then please try to provide more details and we'll continue to help you figure out what's going on. However, if the one you're locked out of is company owned, you must contact your IT department for assistance (assuming the "I forgot my password" link doesn't resolve the issue).

I am just back in after same problem, but it appears mine was 'using the wrong email'. A kind soul in admin fixed it for me. Mucho grassy ass to you. My memory span when busy is getting worse. I can leave here to do something, and by the time I get to the kitchen etc, erm, why am I here.

This is a reason why I tend to stay away from new user first posts... They ask for advice, and you give it... but unless it's "tell me I only have to click one button to fix my issue", they don't bother taking the advice or reading instructions.

Why ask for help then? :(
