Hi.
I had to roll back my 3D printer slicer and now I am having an issue on my PC. Normally, the software is the default for .stl files. Double click them and they load the slicer. I have installed the previous slicer and made the file associations. The slicer is working and reading the files properly. The problem is that currently the .stl files are not associated with the slicer and I am trying to use the "Open with" function on Windows explorer with no joy. The choose the app window looks like this:
If you look at the top of the window, you can see an entry for Creality Print 6.0 This is the version that I have uninstalled due to some weird bugs. I reinstalled version 5.1, but when I go to "Choose another app" and select the version 5.1 file, Windows keeps insisting on using the version 6.0 link which has been uninstalled. I should note that the files for each version are the same name (different folders), They are both called "CrealityPrint.exe."
Does anyone know how to remove the Creality Print 6.0 listing from the "Open with" window, please? Here is what I have tried so far:
1. Uninstalling the new slicer (6.0)
2. Several reinstalls of the old slicer (5.1)
3. Deleting every folder containing remnants of the new slicer, including in \Users\AppData...
4. Tried Revo uninstaller to get rid of remnants
5. Went through the registry and cleaned out every mention of the new slicer
6. Rebooted 20 or more times
7. Tried really hard not to rip out my hair in frustration as I tried to re-associate the .stl files with the old slicer so the slicer loads when I double click an .stl file.
I know that this is probably just something stupid that is easy to fix, but I can't figure out where to look to reset this problem. I would definitely appreciate any help on this one, please.
