A NPU (Neural Processing Unit), or AI processor, is a specialized accelerator that handles artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) tasks right on your PC instead of sending data to be processed in the cloud. The GPU and CPU can also process these workloads, but the NPU is especially good at low-power AI calculations. The AI PC represents a fundamental shift in how computers operate. It is not a solution for a problem that didn’t exist before. Instead, it promises to be a huge improvement for everyday PC usages.

Contents
- Option One: Check If PC Has NPU in Task Manager
- Option Two: Check If PC Has NPU in Device Manager
EXAMPLE: Neural Processing Unit (NPU)
1 Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc).
2 Click/tap on the Performance tab. (see screenshots below)
3 If your PC has a NPU, you will see a NPU section with its name (ex: "Intel AI Boost") and details.
1 Open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc).
2 If your PC has a NPU, you will see a Neural processors category to expand to see the NPU name (ex: "Intel AI Boost"). (see screenshots below)
That's it,
