This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable showing widgets or app detailed status on the lock screen for your account in Windows 11.

The lock screen (aka: welcome screen) is the screen you see at startup and when you lock (Win+L) the PC. You will need to dismiss the lock screen to to see the sign-in screen and sign in to Windows.

Starting with Windows 11 build 23612 (Dev) and build 22635.3061 (Beta), Microsoft introducing a richer weather experience to your lock screen. This includes dynamic, interactive weather updates. So, as you hover over the weather experience on your lock screen, you will see more information. When you tap or click on the weather card and sign in, Microsoft Edge opens with the full forecast in MSN Weather. If you already use Weather for Lock screen status, there is nothing for you to do. Also, this new experience will be on by default. Should you not want to see this experience, you can change your lock screen status to None. This rich weather experience is available when you lock your screen no matter which lock screen background personalization option you select (Windows spotlight, Picture, or Slideshow).

Starting with Windows 11 build 22631.3374, you should see the richer weather experience on your lock screen. This includes dynamic, interactive weather updates. So, as you hover over the weather experience on your lock screen, you will see more information. When you tap or click on the weather card and sign in, Microsoft Edge opens with the full forecast in MSN Weather. If you already use Weather under Settings > Personalization > Lock screen > Lock screen status, there is nothing for you to do. Also, this new experience will be on by default. Should you not want to see this experience, you can change your lock screen status to “None.” This rich weather experience is available when you lock your screen no matter which personalization option you select (Windows spotlight, Picture, or Slideshow).

Starting with Windows 11 build 22635.3420 (Beta), Microsoft adds Weather and more widgets to your lock screen. Stay informed and efficient with dynamic updates that bring finance, traffic, and sports to your Lock screen, alongside weather. The card design has been improved with acrylic blur, card size, spacing, and font optimizations. Note this feature might not be available to all users because it will roll out gradually.

Hello Everyone, I created an account here just to ask for help and check what is wrong with my PC.

I did run the command (below) to enable Copilot, command run successfully, restart, but Copilot icon did not apprear.

Powershell:
C:\Users\Andrei> & "C:\Users\Andrei\Downloads\ViVeTool-v0.3.3\ViVeTool.exe" /enable /id:47921515,47921574
ViVeTool v0.3.3 - Windows feature configuration tool

Successfully set feature configuration(s)

I also observed that the Lock screen widget are also not available for me...

Windows install has a minimum of program installed, some provacy settings disabled (like tracking id and other similar). Might be some of the disabled options ti prevent cortana activation?

windows version = Windows 11 Pro - 23H2 - 22631.3672 - Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1009.0
local (admin) user.

Please help. :)

PS: i have another laptop, Build 22631.3593, and it got both Copilot+Widgets on lock screen (probably other features...) [similar settings i hope]
PS2: not all features IDs are in the "FeatureDictionary.pfs" file... i cannot check if the IDs were correct.

OK, that makes sense.
Copilot is not yet available worldwide.
As far as the widget for the weather on the lock screen, make sure ou open the Weather App and confirm your location.

I can "cope" with "Copilot is not yet available worldwide", but the other laptop is 22631.3593 (some older version) and still got it long time ago.
Anyway, why the WIdgets are not available (by default or with VIVE tool)?
I think is smtg wrong with my setup....

I found this in Diagnostic Data Viewer...
