Is it when launching Chrome or opening a specific webpage or opening a new tab in Chrome?
Does it happen with other browsers? Try another browser to check.
If it only happens with Chrome then maybe someone else can help. I don't use Chrome.

I do not use Chrome either, but I would disable all Chrome add-ons. If that fixes the problem, enable them one at a time to find the bad one. If the problem still exists, backup your Chrome bookmarks and completely remove Chrome and all its remnants using Revo Uninstaller. Restart and re-install Chrome, then import your bookmarks back in.

Common issue for many, google and you will see others complaints. No one can seem to identify the cause except for trying to reduce Chrome's memory usage.

With his 64 gb of ram I do not think it is a lack of memory unless he has a ton, and I mean a ton, of Chrome tabs open.

Didn’t say that was his case, only when searched memory is most often discussed.

I would say uninstall chrome entirely and use a different browser. I know I know chrome is propbably like your baby, lol, and you never want to use another browser right, Well it could be a coding issue and until theres a fix shot out it probably will be useless til then. I use to be a die hard chrome fan, then firefox then Edge and have tried 30 other browsers and now 20 years later I only use Firefox for many reasons.

I have Edge, Chrome, Brave and Firefox installed. I used Brave 99% of the time though. I would use Firefox, but I can't figure out how to adjust the spacing in between each bookmark so that the bookmarks are closer together like they are in Chrome/Brave.

Fix for Bookmark Spacing

Below is the same article I just copied and pasted the answer but just check out the link.

Try this:

@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);
.sidebar-placesTree treechildren::-moz-tree-row {
height: 1.3em !important;
border-width: 1px !important;
}

I tested using the "Portable" build of Firefox 25, but the internal style rules should work the same.

For users who prefer to use the Stylish extension rather than editing userChrome.css, you can create a new blank rule and paste the above (see screen shots for results, this is on a "Basic" Windows 7 theme). Make sure to close and open the sidebar to force a redraw after using Preview or Save in Stylish.
