The Socket AM5 motherboard family features two new chipsets. Yeah, super excited about these new 9000 series AMD chips. I'm not sure yet that I can justify the cost to upgrade my Ryzen 5900x and 3080, but if I were building a new machine in a month or so, it would certainly be on the AMD platform.

A 12 core CPU, all performance cores, coming in at 120w TDP....and an average of 16% uplift on IPC at 5.6-5.,7Ghz.... is going to be outstanding.

I have a 5900X but I plan to go big with a 9950X
I would stick to a 9900x myself....rather have the lower TDP. I don't need the extra processing power.

I would stick to a 9900x myself....rather have the lower TDP. I don't need the extra processing power.
My Noctua cooler can apparently handle over 250W so I wouldn't need to replace that 👍

My dark rock pro 4 also handles 250w, but I always build up a whole new system....so I would be replacing everything. I might stick with another Dark Rock Pro 4, that thing has been outstanding for me.

Edit: just noticed there is an updated Dark Rock Pro 5. Checking out some videos on the changes between the 4 and 5.
