Could experience users shed light and share opinions on my laptop problem

I have this problem where my laptop and mouse is not available when i boot or restart my laptop. No it is NOT a driver problem.This is a convertible touchscreen laptop that folds into a tablet (mode).

After a lot of experimenting, i ad now found out that if i DISABLE the INTEL INTEGRATED SENSOR in DEVICE MANAGER, i have access to my laptop and trackpad mouse on boot (but obviously no tablet mode when i fold the laptop).

Could someone take an intelligent guess as to what exactly could be wrong?

Is my laptop stuck in tablet mode?

Has the G(yro) sensor malfunctioned?

has a sensor cable malfunctioned (the tablet too does not auto orient portrait to landscape when rotated)?

Please share educated opinions, thoughts, possibilities if possible

While I agree it's probably failing hardware, one cannot say 100% it's not a driver.
With hardware related issues, it can always can also be related to the driver of that hardware, possibly not being compatible with whatever version of windows you have..
Here are some things off the top of my head in no particular order. You might want to make a system image first.

What version and build of 11 are you running?
Can you correlate when the issue started to a particular windows update? Either an OS update or a driver update? We have had reports that when Windows update has updated some drivers, it has caused problems. Not specifically your problem, but problems in general.

If you have an image of the system made prior to when the problem started, restore the image to see if the problem is fixed. If it is, it proves the hardware is good. This is the best, all around solution in troubleshooting and will point definitively to a hardware issue or not. You can also try system restore.

Try removing the Intel integrated sensor in Device manager. Be sure to select 'inclue driver'. Restart and reinstall using the driver from HP.

I see your laptop is older.Make sure you are running the most current chipset driver and UEFI bios version on the HP support page.

Make sure you have no corrupt system files that is causing this problem. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair. If it found corruption it could not fix followup with this command (note the spaces)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Restart computer
(Note-you can follow up with another sfc /scannow command to make sure that dism repaired the files)

yes, i have rolled back my system using two older macrium images and the problem showed up there too.

drivers for the integrated sensor were deleted and reinstalled - the problem persisted.

That's a pretty good indication it's hardware. I looked at the disassembly instructions for that laptop. Looks like to get to the g-sensor board take a complete disassembly.
