Solved Cursor very jerky when running without admin privileges

I have client who has a domain user ID on a Windows 11 machine that’s fully updated. His cursor movement is very jerky, when his user ID does not possess admin privileges. It makes it very hard to operate the GUI. With admin privileges turned back on, everything is fine.

What could be the cause of this?

After changing batteries (if it is a cordless mouse and/or keyboard...In fact I would test with an entirely different mouse and keyboard just to be sure), here are things I would try to narrow it down:

1. Perform a clean boot to eliminate software conflict causing the issue. If it doesn't happen in a clean boot, you have some software conflicting with Windows. Brink's procedure will help you weed out which one. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 11 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts Tutorial

2. Create a new domain user account. There's a possibility of corruption in the current account.

3. Make sure you have no corrupt system files that is causing this problem. Open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow
Pay attention to the scan results to see if SFC found anything it could not repair. If it found corruption it could not fix followup with this command (note the spaces)
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Restart computer

According to your suggestion, I ran on one affected system, where it fixed the jerky cursor and corresponding unresponsiveness of the GUI. On the other affected system that scan and repair did not fix it.

The jerkiness goes away, when the affected user is given administrative privileges again.
