Desktop screen all of the sudden is very pixelated, faded, and making slight flashes.

I turned on my computer to find it very faded out and pixelated with a very slight flash, almost like an old analog tv. There were no recent updates and I’ve tried to update my display drivers but nothing has worked. I’ve attached a photo below.

To add on, there are also random dark spots as seen in the photo which are not external

What video card and what power supply?

To post a screenshot on this forum...

1. Take the screenshot, edit it as desired, save to your desktop as .png or .jpg (max. size = 2MB)
2. Left click in your post, where you want to place the screenshot.
3. Click the Attach Files button at lower left, browse to your pic and click Insert.
4. After clicking Insert, I usually choose the Thumbnail (smaller) option, or the Full Image (larger) option.

Hope it’s not your card dying. But possibly most likely your card or the monitor is now bad.
. Do you have a second monitor you can try?
. Also, do you have a spare cable you can try? Cross your fingers it is the cable.
. Make sure your cable is in securely both on the monitor and the computer, also.
Trying a second monitor is the first step I would take. If it does the same thing, try another cable. If it stops happening after trying either of these things, you can rule out the card being the problem.

If you don’t personally have a second monitor or cable, can you call on a friend to lend you theirs just to check?

I sure hope its not the card, I got the computer a month ago. Also, its an all-in-one desktop so its not anything with cables or second monitors.

OK yeah I see the dots on the black screen. The photo is harder to tell. What happens when you watch a movie or video?

This possible/probably wont help at all. But try shutting down, unplug your computer from the power outlet for a few minutes. Then startup again.

I did come across this

Some users have reported that their Dell Inspiron 24 5410 All-in-one has a very exaggerated sharpness adjustment done at the factory, which causes white pixels around the text. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be user-adjustable and may require a firmware update from Dell to fix it.

Has the Dell software offerd any Firmware updates?

Also, have you run through this at all?

I will be honest with you. As much as it is a pain in the rear; If I bought an All-In-One and it started doing this, knowing I have made no changes that may of caused it. I would take it back and show them.
At least it’s an all in one and easy to transport?
Your problem shouldn’t be a problem with such a new PC if you have made no changes.

The only other thing I could suggest and I can hear the laughter (this is an old issue regarding older TV’s/Monitors for yesteryear) is to try another outlet and face the PC in a different direction. e.x. If it was facing North, face it East or West from the original position. Sounds stupid but it’s the last suggestion I have.

In device manager see if there was a driver update for the videocard. If there was you can try rolling back to an older driver and see if that fixes your problem.

I see a uniform black image.

But a screenshot doesn't show what is displayed. Rather, it shows the digital data.

I don't know whether that is good or bad news.

I can see the little dots, I’ve not seen that before. Wondering if it isn’t just the wallpaper.
