I am wondering if this registry tweak works on home edition to disable automatic update because Microsoft doesn't say it is configurable through GPO, there is chance that it works on all editions.

This registry tweak corresponds to the GPO Turn off Automatic Download and Install of updates, but the value of 5 is not documented anywhere else.You can turn off automatic updates by doing the following. This is not recommended.
Add a REG_DWORD value named AutoDownload to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsStore\WindowsUpdate and set the value to 5.
