OS
Windows 11 Pro
Hi,
I recently bought new laptop with Win 11 Pro. In the Power settings I set the display to turn off after 10 minutes. But it always turns off after 1 minute. I find this extremely annoying especially if I'm working on something and, say, have to answer the phone, etc.
I don't know if there is another setting that I need to change. Might there be something in the Tasks? If so, what would it be called?

Thanks,
Vic

There are 2 settings for laptops, one On Battery, and the other Plugged In to your power adapter
Make sure your battery is fully charged if not using the power adapter.
Go to search and type Power Options and press Enter.
Click Change Plan Settings, here you can chose when to turn off the display and when to put the computer to sleep On Battery, and when Plugged In.
If you click the Change Advanced Power Settings, you can make more adjustments.

Thanks Spunk. But I am plugged in and fully charged. The advanced settings show pretty much the same info: When plugged in, turn off display after 10 min; put computer to sleep after 45 min.
When on battery, turn off display after 3 min; put computer to sleep after 3 min.
Display still turns off after 1 min.

Boot into Setup (Bios) see if there are any power setting set there.
In Windows, go to the Task Scheduler. See if there any tasks that are set to turn off power after a certain time.
Open Up Power Settings. Click the link in the Left Panel Choose What Power Buttons do. Uncheck Fast Startup.
