This tutorial will show you how to edit an image when you share it in Windows 11.

You can use Windows Share in Windows 11 to share a file with an app, email contact, mobile device (phone), or nearby device.

When you share an image file in the latest Windows 11 Insider Beta (23H2) and Dev (24H2) builds, you can Edit the image from within the Windows Share dialog before sharing it without the editing affecting the original source image file.

Here's How:

1 Right click on an image file you want to share, and click/tap on Share. (see screenshot below)

2 Click/tap on the Edit button at the top of the Windows Share dialog. (see screenshot below)

3 Click/tap on Crop, Adjustment, Filter, and/or Markup to edit the image how you want. (see screenshots below)

4 Click/tap on Save when finished editing the image. (see screenshots above)

When you save the edited image, it gets saved into the folder below. The original image is not changed.

%LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy\TempState

5 You can now share the edited image with an app, email contact, mobile device (phone), or nearby device. (see screenshot below)

That's it,
