Some time ago, I managed to set my laptop up so that it would start up and open my account without a password or Pin, but cannot remember what I did.
When I tried to repeat the exercise with my PC, I inadvertently created a ghost second account which loaded before my own. I then had to select my account and still needed my Pin.
Thankfully Bree was able to offer two options to fix. I couldn’t follow the first (my path didn’t seem to match the screen shots) but the second option did the job.
Recently I tried again with same result – a ghost account. I followed Bree’s guidance again, eliminating the ghost account but now when I startup, I get an extra screen, and I must press a key to take me onto my page where I still have to provide a Pin. I seem to be going backwards instead of forwards.
Apart from the frustration of still needing a Pin, I am perplexed by the extra screen that has appeared this time although I followed Bree’s directions as before.
Advice will be most welcome.
