Hi,

I have this error, and I have looked at people's instructions of how they repaired their problem, but I need instruction for dummies. The computer is so terribly slow.
I ran Tuneup but it took me to the Windows 10 forum to post, please refer to the link.
I would appreciate any help.

That error code is generally associated with Windows Updating issues.

Dayna, if that fails, try running each of these commands in an elevated command prompt. One at a time.

In Windows search, type CMD (Command Prompt) and right click on the result, choose “Run As Admin”

The command Window looks like this:

Copy and paste, (Click each line below to auto copy to the clipboard) into the Command window and press enter.

(One at a time — press Enter after entering each line)

net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start msiserver
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits

Then, in the elevated command window, do the same with these lines (one at a time)

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Now the last one, again in the elevated command window

SC config trustedinstaller start= auto

Reboot your PC

If this hasn’t fixed your issue, please be patient, take your time and perform an in-place upgrade.

If your PC natively supports Windows 11, you should be OK with “Option One”
Remember, take your time, follow slowley.
