OS
Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3810)
I have kept my machines up to date and now find that the TranslucentTB app from the Microsoft store will not work. I get a message to say that there is a problem with encountering a fatal error - see pic. I have tried uninstalling the app and then downloading and installing it again from the MS store but it still returns this error message. I then tried running sfc /scannow and a DISM Restore Health command and both returned there are no system violations etc.
A search for this error code has come back with this error can be fixed but is quite open to the OS being flawed or capable of losing data by doing so.
I am simply bewildered by why this app will not run as it comes from the Microsoft store and what is prompting this error now - maybe one of the latest updates from Microsoft.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

  • Increase the timeout for the XAML TAP to hopefully reduce the amount of "The wait operation timed out" and "Element not found" messages being seen.

I stopped using TranslucentTB because I use ExplorerPatcher with the Win10 taskbar option so as a result Open-Shell lets me choose my own custom taskbar texture. It's not the same thing as the translucency effect of TranslucentTB, but my custom texture is still 1,000 times nicer than Windows default IMO, and, Open-Shell also lets me pick my own custom taskbar text color which makes the moving seconds of the clock a lot less distracting than default bright white.

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
Sorry for the late reply but I booted my machine this morning and got a welcome message from Translucent to just say welcome to the site or something like that including inviting me to donate to it (I should have taken a shot to show you both) and low and behold it was simply working. What has gone on I have no idea. But again thanks for both of you for replying I do appreciate it.(y)(y)
