Hi there @Gas

Number of ways to do this -- but you aren't quite clear on what you exactly require.

First with EXCEL - what version of Office are you using.

Next do you just need a workbook with Links (URL's) to the relevant files with say various added fields such as description etc etc or do you actually want to embed the whole thing within the spreadsheet (IMHO not a good idea).

My take on this is to actually use a proper database -- takes a bit more effort to set up but much more flexible, doesn't require maintaining an EXCEL workbook to update URL's / file locations if you move those or add extra volumes etc. MariaDB is an excellent one and installs on Windows -- I'm in the middle of doing similar with zillions of audio files etc. It's really dead simple to extract info into a spreadsheet with a simple MYSQL query as well. MariaDB is Free (install also the MariaDB obdc driver).

HediSQL is also a brilliant Free program to view and manipulate MariaDB / MySQL type databases and extract data.

Anyway just to show basically some of the things you can do to get stuff into EXCEL here's a test I began with to "get the project on the road".

Just one note thhough-- depending on how old your version of EXCEL is you might not have the transform data functionality . Also again depending your version you might have to enable the "legacy wizards" for data retrieval e.g from Ms query if using MariaDB/MySQL or from a folder if retrieving from files etc. Get data from a folder might be in the standard choice -- depends on what version you have of EXCEL !!.
