Solved Firefox updated to v120 and can no longer log into my shopping website

See photo.
It did not happen with previous FF version.
It only happens on my (Administrator) profile. Does not happen on my wife's 'Standard user' profile.
I tried deleting cache but no change.
Then deleted cookies but no change.
Resorted to uninstalling and reinstalling FF but still the same issue.

Is any one else having this issue?

Hi. When you reinstalled was it to the same version that first gave the error or did you downgrade? Is the above error after you fill in your details and press login or when you arrive at the login page?

Do not go in using the bookmark on your toolbar.
Instead re-sign in using http://www.tesco.com

I can access Tesco from a different country using latest FF - so it can't be FF related.

Try Edge Browser - see if that works. You could also try a VPN with FF - just to be sure your system's ID is not blocked for whatever reason.

@OAT - I opened the tesco.com website as you suggested and then 'sign-in'. This displayed my username and I entered my PW and it worked. Thanks.

I will try again later to see if it works via my normal bookmark method and report back.

@antspants - FYI - I tried using the FF installer for the previous FF v119 (See photo) but FF forced v120 back onto my PC. It seems that one cannot downgrade? It seems that OAT's suggestion worked and also the bookmark is working again so now okay with v120 again but I will confirm later. Also the error happened after entering details and then clicking sign-in.

I think the installer just downloads the latest. You would need to obtain it from Firefox probably.

Downgrading can be tricky with FF. The auto update process needs to be turned off in settings. Unfortunately the only option is to set Firefox to inform you of updates, there is no way to stop it from checking which means a constant nag that an update is available.

One way to disable updates outside of the settings in Firefox is to do the following and then reverse it when your ready to update

Code:

Type “about:config” in the Firefox address bar then press “Enter“.
Search for the
app.update.auto setting.
Double-click the “app.update.auto” option to toggle the setting.
If set to “true“, automatic updates are enabled. If set to “false“, automatic updates are disabled.

When ready to turn updates back on again, repeat but choose “true” instead of false

There is also the possibility that it could of been a server side issue causing the failed login.

OP was using a bookmark from his toolbar that had no cookie pointer resulting in the error.
He was successful in logging in thru the main entry portal.

I checked with Tesco - Their IT department said it wasn't an issue at their end.

Seems to have been a (Firefox?) glitch but it lasted a few hours. It wasn't a one-off. I'll look into disabling FF automatic updating.

Watch this space.

What I find odd is that it happened on both my machines on my profile. I put all my efforts into fixing FF on my desktop machine and did not do anything to the laptop but the laptop fixed itself today. A random glitch albeit on two machines?

I also have a feeling it's something in the new Firefox.
v120 changelog suggests some privacy / tracking enhancements, but I have no proof to what exactly happens, it's a guess.

I suggest you save or edit your bookmark from a working URL.
From your screenshot, it seems lengthy (might just be a redirect) and some URL elements (vars in query-string) may expire in a while or the new Firefox tracking rules doesn't allow them all.

You might want to login again from the web address that works or click to your preferred location on the site, groceries, etc, and add it as the bookmark.

Are the profiles synced? Are you signed into Firefox on both machines when you use it? History/cookies etc
